The travertine is a limestone consisting of calcite, aragonite and limonite, with compact bands, parallel to one another, were small cavities can be observed, where the predominant colors that go from white, green or pink, with branches and leaves marks. Limestone is formed in areas for the calcium carbonate precipitation by the action of fresh water, which causes voids and the deposit materials in more or less parallel bands.
It is used as an ornamental stone in architecture, natural or polished state, applied in indoor, outdoor and décor. Their use in construction, both in classical Roman architecture as at present, due to their durability, easy application and its aesthetic qualities.
